AU-3900 and bridging the B channel output

I've posted this at Classic Sansui at Yahoo as well but ...here goes.

I'd like to try bridging the second (B) output to a subwoofer. This should give me more power but I'm thinking maybe a lot of smoke as well? Has anyone bridged (short the + on the L to the - on R and run the speaker from the unshorted L and R) on one of these amps and had it work?? My 3900 is in almost perfect condition and I'd rather not blow it through the roof just messing around with it.
