You didn't say whether it was in
both channels or just one. A couple
things that come to mind would be
a fault in the power supply possibly
the filter capacitors. There could
also be an open ground somewhere.
This could be in many different
places in the amp. It would be
hard to be sure without actually
being able to bench check it but
this should give you a couple of
possibilities. As far as finding
someone in Massachusetts to check
your amp, I can't help you on that
one. Im in Ohio I can't say I know
of anyone in your particular that
services vintage equipment.
