SM-12A tube reciever/amplifier info

Can anyone give me info on the Model SM-12A reciever/amplifier? I have just aquired it. When was it made and how well was it rated? I also want to know how the MPX function works? It looks like it was probably from the early sixties. It sounds great and it looks well-made. It is EL-84 driven.
