Ebay would probably be the best place where you could find an AU-717. If the Seller has a good feedback record, then I think there's no need for you to feel distrustful. I have gotten many of my Sansui's from Ebay (including the AU-717 I have) and I havent had any problems. I also just bought an AU-D11 from Ebay which should be arriving here any day now.
