: If its the DC that youre referring to as labeled on the G model receivers, that terminology refers to 'Direct Coupled' which means there are no capacitors used in the signal path which theoretically yields the advantage of better sound quality. I say theoretically, because some Sansui models like the AU (AU-717, AU-919 for example) integrated amps have a switch in the back where you can switch between direct and non-direct ( ac coupled) and yours ears probably wont distinguish any significant difference between them.

I was wondering about that thanks. So do you think that the power ratings on
vintage units are underrated? Or about what they should be ?
In general are todays Receivers / Amps overrated in
your opinion? They just don't seem drive the sound like the older units.
