Hi was checking out reviews for the sansui dvd/vhs recorders and stumbled across this site. i was amazed to see that there is actually a market for old sansui equipment. i'am an original owner of a sansui rack system(AU-717 & TU-717) this equipment is well close to 20 yrs old and still working great. i use it in my home theater system along with a Kloss Novabeam front projector(another relic). The amp is used to drive the front left & right speakers which were originally Jensen 3 way floor model speakers with 15" woofers( no need for a sub) the Jensens died a long time ago but a local speaker builder installed new woofers,mid-range & tweeter and was only to happy to re-use the Jensen boxes(nice and heavy) some new grill cloth and away we go! It may not stack up to today's "high end" amps and speakers but it sounds great to me. good luck with your search for old equipment,as the saying goes they don't make 'em the way they used to.
: $390.00 on Ebay and worth every penny (without the oscillation problems of the AU-X1). Anybody who is thinking of upgrading to the AU-919 or its little brother, the AU-717 can't go wrong. There is something to be said for toroidal transformers and large capacitors.
: Peace and enjoy the music!!!
