If you've noticed Paul's s/n database at AudioKarma, you can easily determine the manufacture date of your 3000A by checking the third thru fifth digits of the s/n on the label in the back.

I do, too, but the thing about the 3000A is it is very well designed for an early transistor model.
: You might want to take a look at this site's Service Bulletins and check the one for the 3000A which addresses any trouble spots the model has.
I read about that one; they added an output capacitor. This is unnecessary and would negate the reason I like this receiver, it has direct coupled output. A friend is loaning me the service manual and I will check out the circuit better when I see the schematic.
