Hi Scott:
Sansui made alot of these models for rack systems in the 1980's. The A-9 is an earlier one, it dates to 1981- its shown in a system in a Sansui Catalog I have from that time. The A-9 is 65 Watts and THD is .05% There was also in the Line the A-7 & A-5 (45W and 25W). If you want to know specifically when your particular one was made, the serial # in the back will tell you- the 3rd digit will tell you the year- so if its 1, means 198->1 if its 0-> 1980, if its 2, 1982. Should be in that range. 4th & 5th digits give the month it was manufactured- 01 to 12 for Jan thru Dec.
The A-9 only weighs 16 pounds- so its not built to heavy duty standards like the main amps in the Line at the time (which would be the AU-D models, there's an AU-D9 on Ebay now) but as a basic amp in a modest system its fine, and 25 bucks is certainly easy on the wallet- its costs about that to just fill the gas tank in your car:)
Regards, B/F.
