I don't think this is a regular 9900z.
As stated, it came from overseas with a military guy. He went From Viet Nam to Torrejon AFB Spain to Wiesbaden (sp) Germany. Somewhere along the way he picked this unit up. My best guess right now is that he picked it up either in Spain or Germany. The box even has a repair ticket on it from the military base audio shop and it appears that it was a special order.
I was stationed in Spain myself and remember a guy with a pair of Bose 501's that look nothing like the 501's that I currently see around. Back then, 1973-74, those overseas Bose 501's (European Specs as we called them) had a foam top...and could really blow. I know I am off topic but the difficulty in finding a 9900zdb reminded me of those 501's which I have never seen again. I know they existed because I saw one. Has no one seen a 9900zdb?
