Thought maybe one of you Sansuiphiles could answer a question. I have picked up several old pairs of Sansui speakers (right now I have a pair of SP-3000 and SP-X6 speakers). I have had other pairs in the past. Alot of times when I test the speakers they sound good but I don't seem to hear anything coming from the small cone tweeters (I think these are usually called super tweeters?). The two pairs I have now sem to have that problem, but I opened up the cabinets and at a very low volume connected the speaker wire directly to the tweeters. Well, they work fine. So I was wondering. Does this indicate a problem with the crossovers, or are these super tweeters only supposed to kick in and work at certain frequencies? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
