: : : I recently looked at a sansui system from the early 80's that a friend coudn't get to work. The amp had the compuselect feature, as did the tuner, tape deck and turntable. My question is, are the patch cables required for the system to function, as I was unable to get any sound from the speakers thru the tuner even though the tuner was showing some output. Any info on compuselect would be appreciated.
: : You need special cables to get compuselector to work. There are more than one series of compuseletor models and they are not compatible with each other.
: Thx for the reply; can u explain what compuselect actually does, and are the cables needed to get output to the speakers? With the normal patch cords in place could not get any sound at all; and what if you wanted to add a alternate brand CD player without the compuselect feature; would this be possible? Any explanation would be appreciated.
It should work without compuselector cables as far as I can remember. The compuselector works as to automatically select program source. Pressing Tape Play on Deck will select Tape Input on Amplifier or manually select Tape Play on amplifier will start the deck to play. Same with turntable and tuner if they have the compuselector cables connected.
