Rob, I have an AU-719 built in 1979, according to the serial number, and it also has black transformers. Not sure what the significance of that might be - maybe Sansui had to source from another supplier at that time.

: I bought an AU-719 and found the two large transformers inside are black, like the ones in the AU-717. All the other 719s i have seen have copper looking transformers. Does any body know if Sansui used the black ones in the 719.
