: Hi, I have recently aquired a AU-101 solid state amp. The problem is is that every time i power it up the fuses blow. It seems that the general advise i am getting from everybody is that one or more of the transistors has had it. I have looked for replacement parts for the TIP41 and have had some success. But the real problem lies with the other transistors the C1060.
: Does anybody know of where i can find replacement transistors for the AU-101 and what the proper names are for them.
: Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi Benjamin
If the fuse which blow is one of the quick acting fuses (one for each channel) you can see which channel yo have to check for shorted transistor. If the fuse which blow is the main fuse the fault is probably the rectifier at the secondary output of the power transformer.
Concerning transistors, Power Output Transistors are 2SC1060 and the drivers are CDC8000 and CDC9000. Itīs not very difficult to find. Lift up your sight at the top of this page and you can see where to find parts. You can also click on the link below. When you visit the site you can see that there are substitutes for the transistors you eventually need.
