Thanks Fred, if I get a chance I will check the build date on my AU919 and give it to you. Yes, mine does have the spring clips and there are some brochures that I've seen that show it with the spring clips too. A copy of the brochure was sent to me along with the amp when I bought it and it shows spring clips on it. Unfortunately I don't know when the brochure was printed. I have also seen units with the binding posts like yours. Also, I have seen the amp rated at 110watts and 100watts. Mine I believe is rated at the 100watts as that is how it was stated by the person I bought it from. I guess I could just leave both amps alone as it probably wouldn't be worth the expense. Of course it would be nice to just replace them with gold plated spring clips and eventually change over the inputs and outputs all to gold like the phono inputs are. Thanks for your opinion.

: A discussion had come up recently on www.audiokarma.org about spring clips on the AU-919. I had thought that ALL 919's had binding posts (as they are on the two 919's I own) but it has come to my attention that some 919's (perhaps the early ones) had spring clips.

: As for converting it, I am pretty sure it can be done, whether its really necessary or worthwhile, well...... thats ultimately up to you to decide. I dont think it really has to be done if both units work and sound fine as they are, and I am inclined to say to leave them as they are, but again, its your decision to make.

: B/F
