What's the BIG difference in DC power

What is the big difference between DC power ratings and or power? Compared to what you get from a newer amp / receiver ? I know that most of the older Sansui as well as others are underrated or at least that's what people are saying on epay ? Is Sansui's DC power rated at 100 watts more power or better in some way?Thanks in advance !
