Steph:
You might notice that the AU-719 has "Super Fidelity DD/DC" written in small green print on the front panel, which the AU-717 does'nt have, so yes there are some circuit refinements in the amp (DD/DC stands for 'Diamond Differential-Direct Coupled') Its intereting though, the 719 doesnt have separable pre/power amp section, as the 717 does have it (and 919 as well). The AU-919 has 4 large oval capacitors inside, so for extra inrush current protection when power is first turned on, the flip-up power switch on the 919 is a bit heftier than that of the 717, not sure if its like that as well on the 719. The 919 also has a separate MC Moving Coil on the Input Selector, which 717 & 719 dont have. The AU-719 is rated slightly higher wattage (90W) vs 717 (85W).
I do know the person you refer to regarding the Manual, but I dont know why he hasnt responded to you, perhaps he's just been very busy. The thing is, you CAN get the manual FROM THIS SITE, its available. The link on the homepage (in red print) will direct you there. If you cant find it, let me know and I'll assist you.
